Michelle's
work responsibilities are many: design/layout, instructional design,
writing, project management, bookkeeping and all things technology-related
- there is never a dull day as the work is always changing. She came
to The Wordsmiths in 2000 from the Windy City, where she worked as the
Midwest marketing coordinator for Einstein Bros Bagels. Outside of the
office, Michelle is kept busy by the three men in her life: her husband,
their baby boy and their miniature poodle, George. Any spare time is
filled with family, friends, house projects, books and double lattes!

worked as a freelance writer/editor for 11 years. During that time,
she was managing editor of Merginet.com, a medical industry webzine,
for three years. She also served twice as interim editor for On-the-Town
magazine, a regional arts publication. She has published work in On-the-Town,
Grand Rapids Magazine, Michigan History Magazine, Newsweek, Rodale's
Scuba Diving and SCUBA World. She teaches English and business communications

the Great Lakes and beyond with aquatic creatures of all shapes and
sizes.

Diane's
mission is to create environments where others can thrive. For clients,
this means helping leaders communicate effectively with their co-workers.
For The Wordsmiths, it means coaching colleagues' professional development;
maintaining a culture where creativity can flourish; working on project
strategy, management and writing; and leading business development.
It also involves leading our sister firms,
Corporate Transformations and Perihelion Press. Diane has put her in-depth
study of complex adaptive systems to work not only for corporate accounts
but also by founding or nurturing 14 small businesses. Other previous
work ventures included management positions in for-profit and governmental
organizations. Thanks to a talented staff, she is able to spend some
time with her severely gifted teenage son and in the educational reform
movement. She can also pursue her own creative writing and has published
poetry and won awards under the pseudonym Emma Bonta.
